Video files too large to watch...what to do, please!?

I doubt that the file size is an issue (unless your disk is very badly fragmented) - it's more likely that the video is so highly compressed that the laptop can't process it quickly enough. You can convert the files to a less compressed format using something like Super, but you'll reduce the quality. You'll also make the files much larger.
