Can you help me with a scholarship essay?

The prompt is describing challenging time in your life, and how did you grow from it. I also need to incorporate how going to this school will help me. The first essay I wrote for this they said was "flippant". The problem is I haven't actually had any difficult times in my life until I almost got rejected for this scholarship. I won't be able to afford going to this school if I don't get a scholarship. The school I wish to go to is an all girls, catholic, private school. How should I go about writing this essay?
