Olympus Stylus Tough-6000 screen shut off after taking a picture?

I went to the pool today and it worked just fine. I used it a couple of times afterwards (I had dried it off), and it was working fine also. Then when I went to take a picture a few minutes ago, the screen started turning off by itself and then working again. Right now after I took out the memory card, it made a weird sound, and when I went to turn it on, it did, but the screen stayed off. I opened the battery compartment to see if something was wrong, and there were drops of water on the battery. I have no idea where they came from. It still takes pictures, but I can't look at the screen. What happened?
